Everything is connected to everything else.  In the economy, everyone’s spending is the income of someone else.  It’s circular.  (I’m oversimplifying, I know).  In turn, the economy in general and money in particular have a huge impact on our political system and our government.  And we’ve all been experiencing the degree to which the economy, politics, and government have a direct impact on our lives.

These interconnections are why electoral reform is such a critical issue to address today.

The Politics and Electoral Reform group at Occupy Wall Street has done some deep thinking and discussion about how to address some of the ways in which our current political system has led to government that might be of the people–after all, it is our government–but is only for those currently holding power.
